Anbu Ullangal is dedicated to caring for destitute children, the elderly, the differently-abled, and the mentally ill. We provide shelter, education, and vocational training to uplift their lives. With community support and divine grace, we continue to bring hope and dignity to those in need.
Anbu Ullangal, meaning “Loving Hearts,” is a home that provides shelter and care to those in need. Registered under the Trust Act of 1961 in 1962, it has been protecting orphans, deserted women, the elderly, and the differently-abled for the past eighteen years.
Founded by Mr. Sathya Samuel, who had a vision to help the neglected, it began with just a few abandoned elderly individuals. The home was first established in Satankulam, a village in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu.
Over time, it has grown into a refuge for many, offering care and dignity. Anbu Ullangal continues its mission with dedication and love. Seeing the plight of orphaned children, Mr. Sathya Samuel, a school teacher, recognized their need for care and support.
Using his own earnings, he purchased 1.75 acres of land in Kootampuli, Tuticorin, and, with the help of local philanthropists, began building the home. Over time, Anbu Ullangal grew and now shelters 137 residents.
The home is sustained entirely by the generosity of local people. Being in a rural area, it operates without any government funding. Despite challenges, it continues to provide a safe haven for the needy.
Anbu Ullangal is not just a shelter but a family that nurtures hope and dignity. It provides education for children, care for the elderly, and support for the differently-abled. Sustained by local generosity, it continues to thrive despite challenges, proving that love can transform lives.
